Its that time of year again. The city of Kingsland has a nice one set up this year. The parade route will be a little longer. The festival starts on the 30th and ends on the 1st. 40th Annual Independance Day Celebration!

Exciting news I found on the St. Marys Kiwanis web site!

As we have the opportunity to reflect on the 232 years of our Country’s Independence,we have a lot to be thankful for! Our families and friends have given so much for the cause of Freedom and Liberty for all of us.

The Kiwanis Club of St. Marys has spent the last 40 years celebrating with our community the 4^th of July Festival. With the incredible support of the City of St. Marys, we have partnered together to give everyone a festival to be proud of.

This year’s festival will have our traditional 5 K and 10 K Runs for youth and adults as well as adding a 1.5 K Fun Run for elementary age kids starting at 7 am. We will have our 4^th of July Parade starting at 10:00 am. During the Festival we will have over 100 vendors participating as well as incredible musical entertainment which includes a Watermelon Seed Spitting Contest and a Watermelon Eating Contest for all ages on the Main Stage.

There will be our traditional Classic Car Show, children rides and activities throughout the festival. The Main Event for the evening will be our 4^th of July Fireworks Display on the St. Marys River that will be our biggest ever.

For those of you that have never been to St. Marys might I reccommend you check it out during the holidays. Its lit up beautifully and in my opinion never looked better. 25th annual Kingsland Labor Day Weekend Catfish festival

If you have the opportunity to make it. I highly encourage you to attend this one. It really encompasses what its like to live in this part of Southeast Georgia. This year its September 1-3rd in historic Kingsland, Ga. There will be a 5k run and a 25/50 mile bike ride. In addition there will be dancing, singing with special guest star Tracy Lawrence and more food than you can imagine. Today there are 515 Single Family homes in Camden County. The overnight average for a 30 year fixed was 6.09% and the high temp today for St. Marys is a very nice 90 degrees. 2007 Woodbine Georgia Crawfish Festival

The annual Woodbine Crawfish Festival is held in Woodbine on the last weekend in April each year. The event is held at the Waterfront Park and along the Riverwalk in Downtown Woodbine. It includes food. music, arts and crafts, games, rides, and much more.

13th Annual St Marys Ga Mardi Gras Festival and Parade 2007

For those of you new to the area and looking for something fun to do. I highly reccomend you take the family to St Marys the weekend of 16th-17th of February. Mardi Gras is one of my favorite events. The festivities are sponsered by the St Marys Downtown Merchants Association. This years theme is “Wings and Things” Heres a schedule

16th at 7:00 pm The King and Queen arrive and street dance. At the waterfront park and pavillion

17th at 9 am Tour de Camden Bike ride and 5k run

17th 9-5 pm Arts, crafts and entertainment festival

17th 10 am- Mardi Gras parade. From the old paper mill down osbourne. Bring a sack for the candy and beads.
